Gloire, the main FOSS distribution and testing grounds for Ironclad, gets today a new snapshot!
All snapshots of Gloire have been traditionally distributed using Github’s built-in distribution network. This was fine when we used Github, but now, with the move to Codeberg, and with the need of setting up repositories and other online materials for Ironclad and Gloire, we have moved to host our images ourselves at https://gloire-os.ironclad-os.org/Releases. Snapshots will be now provided at the releases page at the Gloire Codeberg repository.
This snapshot brings a lot of new packages, updates, the advent of package management inside Gloire, with an experimental xbps port, and an upgraded kernel with tons of bug fixes and support for new devices, like NVMe drive support.
The next Gloire release will be published when Ironclad’s work on USB support is done, which will involve reworking how Gloire works when booting for USBs, and adding userland support for the USB devices. We expect to finish that work within the next month.
Details on usage along with download links can be found at Codeberg’s releases section.
Thanks for sticking with Ironclad! It means a lot. For any feedback, please send me an email at streaksu@ironclad-os.org, or alternatively, open an issue at Gloire’s issue tracker.
